Contemporary Norwegian classics

Writers whose books are popular all over the world, are deemed as contemporary classics. Among such masters of Norwegian literature are Jostein Gaarder, Herbjørg Wassmo and Per Petterson! Their books published both in Norwegian and in Russian will be presented at the book exhibition dedicated to the authors’ jubilee celebrations.

Her famous novel, «Dina’s Book» («Dinas bok»), was made into a film in 2002, starring Maria Bonnevie and Gérard Depardieu. The books of Jostein Gaarder also acquired wide recognition as he has changed traditional views on literature for children, thanks to his novel about the history of philosophy «Sophie’s World».
